A Brief Encounter with Bajrangi Fascism

A Brief Encounter with Bajrangi Fascism

Yesterday, we had a brief encounter with Bajrangi fascism. Students of the Dept of Sociology, Delhi Scholl of Economics, Delhi University and a student organization DSU had organized a meeting on Muzaffarnagar “riot” that is basically fascist attack on and ghettoization of poor Muslims, mostly landless in tacit connivance with the state government led by Samajvadi Party of Mulayam household for electoral gains, which rendered thousands of the families, refugees in their own land. I was part of a fact finding team that visited the affected areas and the camps and interacted with maximum possible sections – the perpetrators as well as the victims. I, along with Anil Chamdia, a known Hindi journalist was invited to speak. Some ABVP members had allegedly threatened to disrupt the meeting. There were 7-8 people inside the room and started making noises and misbehaving with the audience including female students and faculty members even before the meeting started. As soon as I started with our finding of preparations through Khap Panchayats attended by RSS/BJP leaders including one at Kutba village, which witnessed one of the worst attacks, organized by Sanjeev Baliyan and addressed by BJP Rajnath Singh, the Bajrangi lumpens started disrupting that I cant take the name of Rajnath Singh, as if they would decide what to speak? This is fascist tactic of attacking right to freedom of association and expression. They were eventually ousted from the hall by the audience but the enforcement arrived and another gang of 30-40 hoodlums tried to gate crash in Police presence and attacked and tore the jacket of an NSI activist. Anyway the meeting went on well amidst the clichéd slogan shouting by the Bajrangi lumpens outside the building. When the meeting was over they continued slogan shouting andf chased few Kashmiri girls leaving the place after attending the meeting unless were chased away by the other students. RSS training systematically demotes the application of mind hence these ideological heirs of Hitler can not coin new slogans and have been repeating same since 1950s.
