"God is dead and shall remain dead", was a representative declaration of the end of divine sanction to social-pol. institutions, a representative declaration the Enlightenment. Demanding giving up religion is demanding giving up the conditions that necessitates illusion, which is provided by the region. That is why the Marxism does not seek to abolish religion but the conditions that necessitate illusion. If people get real happiness, they would not need its illusion, religion shall become unnecessary and wither away.
