DU 36 (ADHOC)

After the adhocs have been reappointed in DU colleges and received summer salary, the posts should be advertized at earliest and the adhocs must com pet to get in or out. But that does not happen and leads to academic corruption in appointments. Nandita Narain says that the new people should come in new vacancies, then let us demand an ordinance to do away with interviews for the posts occupied by adhocs.  If the new people have to come in new vacancies (may be through the stage of adhoc) then the facade of advertisements and farce of interviews must be done away with. I didn't get an adhoc job for 15 years and hence no regular job because the adhocs have natural right over the posts they have been occupying, mostly through networking.  What I am pleading is not discrimination against adhoc but parity with non-adhocs despite their having edge by their experience. Regularization of adhocs through the formality of interviews practically amounts to the academic crime of job fixing and induction of people who may have exhausted all the chances of jobs through competitive examination. If the adhocs are competent, they can always make their way in free and open competitions.
