You need a long lecture instead of a 2-liner. I had posted a long write-up in a group :International Proletariat, "there can be socialism with democracy or there can be no socialism." The so-called democracy is no democracy, it is dictatorship of Corporate. Every 4 years you decide which section of the ruling class is going to oppress you. USSR/China were experiments in Socialism that ended into state capitalism, that too was better to private capitalism. The history of capitalism in Europe and consequently America goes back to 16th century. History of capitalization, i.e. industrialization practically begins in 1920 and due to its non-profit orientation and planning it became at par if not more with them within 15 years. Had it not been surrounded by scared war-mongering imperialist forces and was able to utilize human and natural resources to build economy and socialism, it would have done more wonders. While building future socialism we will learn from the historic mistakes. The theory of democratic Centralism is the theory of participatory democracy, like Rousseau's General Will, in which the ruler and the ruled are the same, the people themselves. I must sign out and prepare my lecture on the Political Economy of Neo-liberalism, I conclude it for now by referring to one of my first few articles written in the early 1980s on the bogey of dichotomy between democracy and Marxism/Socialism. ".... Christopher Caudwell (Author of The Studies and The Further Studies in a Dying Culture) was a Marxist, a Communist to be more precise. He had been writing for the defense of democratic freedom in his own country England. as soon as the democratic freedom was in danger in another country, Spain, he picked up his pen and a gun and martyred himself fighting for the democratic freedom fighting against a dictator in 1937 at an young age of 30." Red Salutes, Com Caudwell!
