With changes in the economic (base) structurer, changes in the political and legal (super) structures readily follow, as they are essential to hold the economic changes but the cultural (super) structure takes much longer to change, as we internalize the cultural values as the final truth during our growing up socialization. For the cultural changes, i.e. for the disillusionment with the values inherited as the legacy one needs to wage continuous internal struggles. In doing so one needs to derive an equilibrium between right to the freedom of desires and social conscientiousness.
