Have read many ancient texts and intellectual glory with Brahmanical counter revolution against Buddhist revolution through universal democratic and scientific education based upon system of free debate and discussion. JNU is a replica of Buddhist democratic culture. Buddha himself was questioned by his students, who after intense debate agreed to change his views. Brahmanism destroyed Buddhist revolutionary culture and institutions, Pushyamitra Shung and Shankaracharya (8th c.) are the biggest culprits. In place of democratic education for their hegemonic designs imposed a Gurukul design of authoritarian education system reserved for only ruling classes -- princes and Brahmans. It sent the society into a long phase phase of reaction and regression . Vast talent of women and ruled classes went waste. The country became so fragile that a shepherd like Nadir shah with couple of cavalry warriors could run over, plunder from Peshawar to Bengal and go back, despite it being a country of great bravado. In a society, in which right to SHASTR and SHAASTR is confined to a minuscule minority was vulnerable to go down any power. They forced 50% talent of their own class, of the women to go waste. I am not talking of antiquity, but from my own experience, experience of boy from a locally very reputed Brahman family. I was a MPhil student and I have a 12 year old sister. She studied up-to 8th class and there was no high school in a walking distance. Family was looking for a boy for marriage. I am not talking about antiquity, 1982. How can a girl go out to study like boys? No one was talking about basic that where the finances shall come. I had to wage a fierce battle with the whole clan. But I am born rebel, I put my foot down and took her to Vanasthali Vidyapith, a girls' school-cum residential university where she did her 9th class - MABEd studies. Now she is a teacher in a Delhi's reputed school.
