Life does not have any extra-living end, living a quality life is an end in itself, rest follow as inadsvertent consequences. But the central question is :"What constitutes a quality life?" -- 'eat, drink and be merry' principle of utilitarian pleasure; or realization of one's intellectual and creative potentialitiues and energy that distinguishes human from other animals in the collective interest of humanity as such, as the individual interst is safest in the collective interest and collective wisdom is always superior to individual wisdom.
